Hello Dreamers,
I'm back again
just for Aimer's song.
I'm quite surprised
when I heard
she'll be in charged
for Demon Slayer's songs too.
Well, just enjoy her new songs!!

Translation Notes:
If you can feel it,
Aimer really tried her best
to make this song perfectly fits for
Entertainment District Arc,
or should I say this is
the truly Uzui Tengen's song
because she put many words
related to Uzui Tengen
as a Sound Breathing Pillar.
Zankyou (Echo)
Uta (Song)
Hade (Flamboyant)
Koe (Voice)
Todoroke (Roar)
Hibiki watare (Resound)
Kanadete (Playing a music instrument)
Fumen (Music sheet)
Ne wo narasu (Ring a sound)
"Ta ga sode ni saku genka"
"Hade na iro mo makasu youni
Shinku no ka koso ahare"
Those phrases were inspired from
Kokin Wakashuu 古今和歌集
(Heian period collection of poetry)
色よりも 香こそあはれと 思ほゆれ
たが袖ふれし 宿の梅ぞも
Iro yori mo ka koso ahare to omo hoyure
Ta ga sode fureshi yado no ume zomo
Interpretation:
The scent of plums seems to be
more charming than its color.
Someone's sleeve touches it inside the plum's inn,
and its sweet smell still lingering.
And plum (ume) here maybe refers to
6th Upper Moon, Daki
(I have my own interpretation for this part,
but it might be a spoiler, so I'll add it later)
At first I think the phrase
"Ta ga sode ni saku genka"
is a bit odd,
but then I realized that
Entertainment District Arc
is full of Oirans 花魁 (courtesan)
wearing kimono.
This kanji of genka 幻花
actually consist of
maboroshi 幻 (illusion, phantom)
and hana 花 (flower),
But in my opinion,
Genka 幻花 is not referred
to a certain flower,
but to the flower pattern
on Oiran's kimono
"Ta ga sode ni saku genka"
A flower blooms on Oiran's kimono sleeve

Hi!! I really like you blog and translations, they are very good, but I have a silly question hahaha, why you lyrics are different from other translations? I noticed while reading, yours say "ただ空に 咲く喧嘩" on the contrary, another page says "誰が袖に咲く幻花", answer if you want, I'm just a little bit curious
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks for visiting xD
DeleteDon't worry, I know someone will definitely ask about it.
Hmm, as this song will be released officially next year, that's mean there wouldn't be official lyrics until Jan 12, 2022, or maybe they will release it on MV subtitle on YouTube (Dec 12)
Those lyrics above are based on my ears, I copied them as I hear from the song, so maybe it would be wrong or right. And somehow, this phrase "誰が袖に咲く幻花" is a bit odd, "a phantom flower blooms in someone's sleeve"
I heard it as "kenka - battle" and maybe it'd be perfect for Demon Slayer, but I don't know if it maybe wrong too xD
So just wait for the official lyrics.
